Submit Your Manuscript
UJHSE welcomes submissions of original research, reviews, systematic reviews, case reports, short communications, editorials, and letters in medical sciences, public health, and environmental health. All manuscripts undergo rigorous double-blind peer review.
Before You Submit
Please ensure you have completed the following before initiating your submission:
- Read the Author Guidelines thoroughly
- Prepare your manuscript following ICMJE Recommendations
- Use appropriate reporting guidelines: CONSORT (randomized trials), STROBE (observational studies), PRISMA (systematic reviews), CARE (case reports)
- Ensure double-blind formatting — remove all author-identifying information from the manuscript file
- Prepare all required documents listed below
Required Documents
| Cover Letter | Addressed to the Editor-in-Chief, briefly describing the study, its significance, and confirming the manuscript has not been published or submitted elsewhere |
| Title Page | Separate file containing full title, all author names, affiliations, ORCID iDs, corresponding author contact details, word count, and funding disclosures |
| Blinded Manuscript | Complete manuscript with no author-identifying information (title, abstract, keywords, main text, references) |
| Tables | Each table on a separate page, or embedded within the manuscript at appropriate locations |
| Figures | High-resolution images (minimum 300 dpi) in TIFF, JPEG, PNG, EPS, or PDF format |
| Supplementary Materials | Additional data, appendices, or multimedia files (if applicable) |
| Reporting Checklist | Completed checklist for the appropriate reporting guideline (CONSORT, STROBE, PRISMA, CARE, etc.) |
| ICMJE COI Forms | Completed ICMJE conflict of interest disclosure forms for all authors |
| Ethics Approval | Letter or certificate from the institutional ethics committee / IRB (where applicable) |
| Patient Consent | Signed patient consent form for case reports involving identifiable patient information (if applicable) |

Copyright for published articles is held by UJHSE, published by Utkarsh Research Network. All articles are published under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 International License (CC BY-NC-ND 4.0).
You are free to: Share — copy and redistribute the material in any medium or format.
Under the following terms:
- Attribution — You must give appropriate credit and provide a link to the license
- NonCommercial — You may not use the material for commercial purposes
- NoDerivatives — You may not remix, transform, or build upon the material
By submitting a manuscript, authors agree to transfer copyright to the journal upon acceptance. Authors retain the right to use their work for non-commercial academic purposes.
What Happens Next
- Acknowledgment email — sent within 24 hours of submission confirming receipt
- Editorial screening — the editorial office checks completeness, scope fit, and formatting (5 working days)
- Peer review — manuscripts are reviewed by at least 2 independent experts in a double-blind process
- First decision — communicated within 4–6 weeks (accept, minor revision, major revision, or reject)
- Revision (if required) — 30 days for minor revisions, 60 days for major revisions
- Acceptance and APC payment — upon final acceptance, the article processing charge is invoiced
- Copyediting, proofs, and publication — accepted articles are copyedited, proofs sent for review, and published online with a DOI
Article Processing Charge (APC)
| International Authors | USD 300 + applicable taxes |
| Indian Authors | INR 10,000 + 18% GST |
- No submission or review fees are charged at any stage
- APC is payable only upon final acceptance
- Fee waivers and discounts are available for authors from low- and lower-middle-income countries
- Waiver requests are evaluated on a case-by-case basis and do not influence editorial decisions
