Author Guidelines

UJHSE Author Guidelines (Summary)

Manuscripts must be prepared in accordance with the ICMJE Recommendations.

FORMATTING:
- File Format: Microsoft Word (.docx) or LaTeX
- Font: Times New Roman, 12 pt, double-spaced
- Margins: 1 inch (2.54 cm) on all sides
- Page numbers: Bottom right, consecutive
- Line numbers: Continuous (required for initial submission)
- Language: English (American or British, used consistently)

WORD LIMITS:
- Original Research: up to 5,000 words
- Review Articles: up to 6,000 words
- Systematic Reviews & Meta-Analyses: up to 8,000 words
- Short Communications: up to 2,500 words
- Case Reports: up to 3,000 words
- Editorials: up to 1,500 words (by invitation)
- Letters to the Editor: up to 1,000 words
- Perspectives/Commentaries: up to 2,000 words

ABSTRACT:
- Structured abstract for Original Research and Systematic Reviews: Background, Methods, Results, Conclusion (250 words max)
- Unstructured for Reviews, Case Reports, Short Communications (150 words max)
- Include 3-6 keywords (MeSH terms preferred)

REFERENCES:
- Vancouver (numbered) style
- Superscript numerals in text
- Include DOIs where available
- Six or fewer authors: list all; more than six: list first six + "et al."

REPORTING GUIDELINES:
Follow the appropriate checklist and submit as supplementary file:
- RCTs: CONSORT
- Observational: STROBE
- Systematic Reviews: PRISMA 2020
- Case Reports: CARE
- Diagnostic: STARD
- Qualitative: COREQ
- Animal Research: ARRIVE 2.0

Submission Preparation Checklist

By submitting to UJHSE, I confirm that:

- This manuscript is original, has not been published previously, and is not currently under consideration by another journal.
- The manuscript file is in Microsoft Word (.docx) or LaTeX format.
- The text is double-spaced, 12-point Times New Roman, with 1-inch margins and continuous line numbering.
- The manuscript is blinded — all author names, affiliations, and identifying information have been removed from the manuscript file.
- A separate title page has been prepared with all author details, affiliations, ORCID iDs, and corresponding author contact information.
- All authors meet the ICMJE authorship criteria and have approved the final version of the manuscript.
- All conflicts of interest and funding sources have been disclosed.
- References follow the Vancouver (numbered) style with DOIs included where available.
- Ethics approval and informed consent have been obtained where applicable, and approval details are stated in the manuscript.
- Clinical trials have been prospectively registered in a recognized registry, and the registration number is provided.
- The appropriate reporting guideline checklist (CONSORT, STROBE, PRISMA, CARE, etc.) has been completed and uploaded as a supplementary file.
- Figures are submitted as separate high-resolution files (minimum 300 dpi).
- I understand that an Article Processing Charge (APC) will be payable upon acceptance.
- I agree to the journal's copyright and licensing terms (CC BY-NC-ND 4.0).
